Silver Memories Entertainment - operated by the Music Broadcasting Society of Queensland Ltd
Last updated 12 October 2026
Silver Memories Entertainment is a free directory that helps aged care facilities find entertainers. This page explains, in plain terms, what information we collect, why, and what you can do about it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What do we collect from entertainers?
When you register, we ask for:
- your name, email address and mobile number
- your postcode, suburb and how far you'll travel
- details of your act - the name you perform under, categories, a bio, photos, website and social media links, and a minimum fee if you choose to give one
- whether you'd consider unpaid bookings, and whether you have an agent
What appears on my public profile?
Shown: the name you perform under, your suburb and travel distance, categories, bio, photos, website and social links, your minimum fee (if given) and your agent's name (if you have one).
Never shown: your email, mobile number, postcode, or whether you accept unpaid bookings. Your own name only appears if you perform under it. We remove hidden location data from photos before they are published.
How do we use it?
- To review and publish your listing.
- To pass on enquiries from facilities by email. If you have an agent, enquiries go to them instead.
- To send you a link to update or deactivate your profile when you ask for one.
We may include overall numbers, such as how many entertainers are listed, in reports to our funders. These never identify anyone. We don't sell your information or share it for marketing.
I'm contacting an entertainer - what happens to my details?
When you send an enquiry, your name, organisation, contact details and message go straight to the entertainer (or their agent) by email. We don't keep a copy, but the entertainer will have your details so they can reply. If you report a problem with a listing, your message goes to our staff by email and isn't stored in the directory.
Why did I receive an invitation?
We invite entertainers we think would suit aged care audiences. We find them through public listings such as websites and social media, people who have worked with Silver Memories before, and recommendations from facilities, agents and other entertainers. If you don't register within 30 days, your details are deleted and we keep only your email address, so we don't contact you again. Every invitation also has an unsubscribe link, which does the same straight away.
How long do we keep it?
- Unfinished registrations are deleted automatically, usually within a few weeks.
- Published profiles are kept while you're listed.
- Deactivated profiles are permanently deleted 3 months after they're deactivated.
- Unsuccessful applications are deleted after 12 months.
When a profile is deactivated or deleted, we keep its email address, so we don't invite that person to register again. We may do the same for an unsuccessful application.
How do I update or deactivate my profile?
Request an edit link and we'll email you a private link where you can update your details or deactivate your profile. Email us if you'd like your photos or agent changed.
When you deactivate your profile, it disappears from the website straight away, and your profile information is permanently deleted after 3 months. If you change your mind before then, contact us to reactivate your profile.
Who else handles my information?
The directory and its database run on our own servers in Brisbane. We also use a few trusted services: Microsoft 365 to send email, Cloudflare to block spam on our forms, and Google Fonts for the site's lettering. Some of these providers may process data outside Australia.
We don't use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Like most websites, our server keeps standard logs, including IP addresses, for about 30 days to keep the site secure.
Seeing, correcting or complaining
You can ask to see or correct the information we hold about you. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first. If we can't resolve it, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
